The Grimston Rooms
The Grimston Rooms are three self catering apartments, each with its own kitchen, shower room and a spacious bed sitting room for one person. They are intended for extended stays for visitors wanting retreats (guided or personal), reading weeks, sabbaticals or solitude. They are not holiday cottages but are suitable for those wanting quiet and solitude.
The apartments are centrally heated and have a continuous supply of hot water. The kitchens each contain a Baby Belling stove, a microwave, a fridge with a small freezing compartment, a toaster, kettle and a selection of cooking implements. The apartments are self catering but some basic stores will be provided on arrival and may be topped up from the main house if required. These consist of bread, milk, cereals, sugar, tea, coffee. Further stores can be bought in Sleights or Whitby and lifts may be arranged for those without transport. There is access to a washer/drier in the Centre as well as further freezer space and a vacuum cleaner. Other cleaning materials are provided for each apartment. Please bring your own washing powder and conditioner. Bed linen is provided and towels are available on request. Bathroom supplies are also provided.
The facilities of the Centre will be available in consultation with the Sisters.
As a registered Charity, the Centre does not ask for a set fee to cover the cost of maintaining the Grimston Rooms but invites donations to support the work. Guidelines are given below . We do not wish to preclude any who cannot afford the suggested amount and we hope that the generosity of those who can afford more will cover the shortfall of those who cannot. British tax payers are invited to use Gift Aid for their donations.
Suggested donations :- £30 a night or £200 for a week. A deposit of £20 is requested on booking.
